めだかのすむ田んぼ教室 「無農薬田んぼで生き物さがし」に参加してきました。
日時：６月４日（土）９時～１２時
場所：福井県越前町八田 無農薬の田んぼとはす池
講師：長谷川巌氏（生物研究家）、井上幸子氏（越前「田んぼの天使」有機の会）、関岡裕明氏（中池見人と自然のふれあいの里）、福田健氏（生物研究家）
久しぶりの生き物フィールドに出かけてきました。
当日は、天気も良く絶好の活動日よりで参加者も多くとても楽しい半日でした。
自転車でやってきた近くの親子や、遠くは勝山や若狭町から参加されたとのこと。特に親子での参加者が多くて、とてもにぎやかでした。
はじめは県の平山さんから、田んぼも生き物について説明を受けました。稲に付いた虫を「虫見板」に落とすと、餌を求めて素早い動きをするのが「益虫」で、動きがのろいのが「害虫」で、田んぼにどの程度害虫がいるかを判断するそうです。「へぇ～！」でした！
さて、観察地の田んぼまでみんなで歩いていくと、広い田園のうち１枚の田んぼにだけコサギが舞い降りて、何やら摘んでいました。同行したおじさんが「あれが今から行く有機農法の田んぼだよ。」と仰られ、生き物と自然の関係に思わず感動しました。
観察会では田んぼに入りドブシジミ、オタマジャクシ、カエルなど、多くの生き物が捕まりました。隣のはす池では、ヤゴ、イトトンボ、ヤンマトンボ、マルタニシ、メダカなど、田んぼとは違った生き物がいました。子どもたちはカエルやオタマジャクシなど、手にとって観察したり、中には難しい名前まで知った子どもが、講師の方の話を固唾をのんで聞いていました。子どもたちが一生懸命生き物を追い、手にとって感じながら目を輝かせる様子は、日の光よりまぶしく感じました。
活動が終わると、有機の田んぼで収穫された「田んぼの天使・有機の米」でおいしいおにぎりを頂きました。これが甘くておいしい！思わず、お変わりを頂きました。子どもたちもおいしさのあまり無心でほおばっていました。お米は越前町の「みやざき おもいでな ファーム」にて販売されているとのこと。ぜひ、生き物たちがつくったおいしいお米を味わってみてはいかがでしょうか。
